Our schedule of Events and Monthly Programs. The Louisa County Historical Society is pleased to invite visitors to our two musuems: The new Sargeant Museum of Louisa County History (Monday thru Saturday 10-12) and the Jail Museum (Fri and Sat 10-12 during May-October). We trust the rich history and diverse heritage of Louisa County will come alive as you experience our themed exhibits at the Sargeant Museum or hear echos of the past through the brick walls of the old jail. Chartered in 1966, the purpose of the Louisa County Historical Society is to promote the preservation of historical records, collect existing materials, writings and artifacts of life in Louisa County and to make these The Historical Society works closely with the Louisa County Public Library, which contains a majority of the society's collection of books. A complete set of the society's magazines is in the libraruy's research room. Our archives of photographs and collected documents are located in the Sargeant Museum. |
